Welcome to my website! I started Salima Creates as a place for my passion for embroidery, goes back to the past 25+ years, can be shared with you. My experience started creating award-winning garments for Pfaff and Bernina Sewing Machine Companies. Then it evolved to teaching sewing and embroidery. My current passion is teaching students all about the Baby Lock IQ Designer and the Brother Design Center which gives you more freedom creating embroider easily. I've now partnered with Baby Lock in developing step by step tutorial instructions on how to use the IQ Designer. I now have 7 volumes available.  You can purchase them here!

Salima is a thoughtful patient teacher. I haven’t found a question she can’t answer. She understands how to organize content so that we learn in a sequence that seems to work well for both beginners and advanced students. I’m so grateful to have found her. I was very frustrated with learning My Design Center before I found her. There was no one I could find locally or online who taught in way that created success. So grateful that Covid happened, just kidding!

Finished projects from the IQ/MDC Retreat. I knew we had awesome machines but what I learned during these 4 days has put my creativity into overdrive. Salima your instructions both written and live are excellent. We had a wonderful group in attendance, so much support and collegiality! Hope we can meet in person one day.
